Catherine Yang, Ph.D. MD (h.c.)
Vice President of Academic Affairs
Serving the Academic Community at California Northstate University
The Office of Academic Affairs advances the academic mission of California Northstate University. The office serves as the central point for all University studies, encompassing the four Colleges, the Registrar and the Institute for Teaching and Learning Institute (ITLE). We ensure quality academic programs for all students and support well qualified faculty to provide excellent teaching and learning.
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs is the principal administrative center for academic affairs on campus. As CNU’s Chief Academic Officer, the VP of Academic Affairs is responsible for the supervision of all colleges, faculty, instructional academic staff and academic programs at the university.
As a Vice President of Academic Affairs, I work closely with faculty and staff to ensure the highest academic standards and a vibrant student learning environment on campus. We are proud to provide opportunities that will challenge and encourage our students to meet the skills and mind set needed in an ever-evolving healthcare field.
The office is actively involved in strategic planning on campus and has been the chief architect of the Academic Program Plan and its annual updates. It also plays a vital role in teaching and learning excellence as well as program review and improvements. We aim to ensure that, from the outset, your experience here will be of the very highest quality.
