“Our mission to advance the science and art of healthcare education is carried out by our passionate team, who are wholeheartedly dedicated to training our students,” said Dr. Heather Brown, Dean of CNUCHS. “The California Health Sciences team supporting students includes award-winning faculty and scholars, well-trained support staff and an administration focused on student success. Unlike other universities, students can expect to be taught by faculty and not by teaching assistants.”

CNUCHS offers a holistic faculty-led environment for students, allowing for academic success, personal growth, and enrichment. Students learn through engaging, high-impact curriculum and all participate in embedded service-learning and scholarly research.

“Faculty are at the forefront of education leading students to specialize in the health sciences, building the hands-on skills required to succeed in professional careers including medicine, dentistry, clinical psychology and pharmacy,” said. Dr. Brown.

CNUCHS students are guided via a dual-advising system that integrates faculty and academic advising. Before stepping foot on to campus, students are assigned health professions advisors to assist them in their journey.

“At California Northstate University College of Health Sciences, we offer a first-year success seminar series to help students gain knowledge and confidence with independent living and learning skills. Students work collaboratively, creating strong foundations and friendships through clubs, coursework and mentorship programs,” said Dr. Rikki Corniola, Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Assessment.

“From the beginning, we teach the importance of organization, perseverance, and passion for success – focusing on mental discipline, service-minded action, self-reflection and ownership. We take great pride in building advising relationships built on mutual respect and appreciation,” said Dr. Brown.
